'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the thrilling dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from distance, and his teammate quickly converted the rebound before sprinting toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

This completed an extraordinary comeback given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 during the second half. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's long-range effort from about way out going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that distance," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It seems as if they always find their target and they know how to control and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and concentration just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at his former club and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At Orient he reunited with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford, before he departed his boyhood club.

Development Path

"I was probably a bit naive going into men's football. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without serious challenge. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

He has shown that maturation for his team and nation, performing well for Northern Ireland, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the last several matches, including two matches fixtures against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a killer pass.

Early Days

This represents a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

His sole appearance for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was closed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was cold out there," he recalls, smiling. "The preceding week, the academy prospects trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "This turned out quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to spend time with the lads but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and on the road. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Fan Interactions

During his time at Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on public transport after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
